I think in situations like this the Gillick principle really highlights the positive direction that I’m most comfortable with. To be a Gillick competent the teen must have enough intelligence, competence and understanding to fully appreciate what’s involved in their treatment. From the examples shown in the video, the teens should be allowed to get the vaccine without their parents authorization.
